Even though the days are getting longer, seems like winter is just getting started. The holidays are over, it’s too early to do Valentine’s Day things, the Super Bowl isn’t for another week and a half, so what is one to do? There’s a little something for everyone below.
• CALLING ALL PARENTS!– Madeline Levine, Ph.D. will speak in a zoom presentation on February 10, 2021 (7-8:15 p.m.) on Preparing Our Kids to Thrive in an Uncertain and Rapidly Changing World. Madeline Levine identifies skills that kids need to succeed and offers solutions to help parents support their children. The event is free but registration is required. • ATTENTION KIDS!- Join others in a virtual Role Playing Game class offered by The Community House Feb. 5-March 26. Teamwork, imagination and fun are all part of this online event. Making new friends is a plus too! Ages 10 and up. Register at: www.thecommunityhouse.org
• FOR KIDS AND ADULTS- It’s winter, so it’s the season for sledding a skating. Seems like mother nature is finally getting around to freezing the skating rink at Burns Field in Hinsdale. Get out, get some fresh air and skate!
• DOWNERS GROVE ICE FESTIVAL- Save the date for the weekend of February 13 & 14 to visit downtown Downers Grove for the annual Ice Fest. Take a socially distanced stroll through the downtown area and be amazed by all the cool ice sculptures.
