IN HONOR OF FAMILIES…

In honor of National Kids and Pets Day coming up next week on April 28, we honor families! We all have one, know of one or come from one. We have a list of things you can do as a family, as a couple or maybe just by yourself to get away from things. No matter who you choose to enjoy time with, here are a few events to take advantage of this week:

BROOKFIELD ZOO’S PARTY FOR THE PLANET – The Brookfield Zoo is having its annual Earth Day celebration: A Party for the Planet Saturday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn the ways anyone can make a difference for animals across the globe. A waste recycling event will also take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the north parking lot off 31st Street. Electronics, textiles and used books, among other items will be collected. STORY TRAIL AT BEMIS WOODS – Enjoy a walk on a short looped trail and experience a story unfold with every step. A related craft will be available for you to take home after your complete the story trail. Story starts at Grove 6 and is available to walk anytime between 10am and 1pm on Thursday, April 28. MAPLE STREET MIXER MURDER MYSTERY! – Who doesn’t like a good murder mystery?? The Hinsdale Public Library is hosting this virtual zoom event on Wednesday, May 5 from 7-9 p.m. This murder mystery game is formulated especially for virtual play and is for everyone who loves a good mystery or misses the iconic 80s. You will receive information about your character prior to the event. For added fun, you have the option to get into character by dressing up or using props.
