Only days remain until Christmas and New Years. You can almost count the hours, minutes and seconds until the rush of shopping, visiting and eating are over. But, not so quick! There’s still PLENTY to do with friends and family in and around Hinsdale before the holidays are over. We’ve highlighted a few favorites for you to do in the next few weeks, so get out there and enjoy the holidays!

Plenty of family fun can be found in Hinsdale when you enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the downtown, make festive gingerbread cookies and visit Santa during this special holiday event. Festivities take place Dec. 11 & 18 in Burlington Park (30 E. Chicago Ave., Hinsdale) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. BRING THE ENTIRE FAMILY!

Families can register and then stop by the Hinsdale Public library (20 E. Maple St., Hinsdale) to pick up their very own gingerbread house kit starting Dec. 15. Limit one per Hinsdale family. Visit https://www.hinsdalelibrary.info for more information, hours and to register.

HEY KIDS! Santa is waiting for a letter from you! Write a letter and drop it in the mailbox at Hinsdale’s Village Hall, 19 E. Chicago Ave., between Dec. 1-15 and receive a personal letter back in 4-6 business days. Be sure to include the parent form available on the website listed below under Special Events > Santa’s Mailbox. Questions? Call (630) 789-7090 or send an email to [email protected] Parent forms available at: https://www.villageofhinsdale.org/
