Earth Day 2021 is coming Thursday, April 22nd. This annual day gives us each a chance to refocus our energy on the earth that supports us 365 days a year. Not sure what you can do to make a difference? Below are a few options to help you connect with and improve our planet.
• PARK CLEAN UP DAY – EARTH DAY CELEBRATION – Thursday, April 22 4 p.m.-dusk. To celebrate Earth Day, come out and help clean up Hinsdale. Perfect for individuals, families or church groups, scouts, etc. Projects include painting, planting and debris clean up. • COMPOSTING 101-The Naperville-based Conservation Foundation is having a zoom webinar on how to create rich beautiful compost for your garden Wednesday, April 14 from 1-2 p.m. Different types of compost bins and how to maintain them will be covered. The program is free but registration is required https://www.theconservationfoundation.org.
• BROOKFIELD ZOO’S PARTY FOR THE PLANET – The Brookfield Zoo is having its annual Earth Day celebration: A Party for the Planet Saturday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn the ways anyone can make a difference for animals across the globe. A waste recycling event will also take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the north parking lot off 31st Street. Electronics, textiles and used books, among other items will be collected.
